Hospital patients and Facebook

It's been a barren month for Web 2.0 stories...

A hospital worker has been suspended amid reports that photos of patients having operations were posted on the social networking site Facebook.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde confirmed it had launched an investigation after an incident at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow.

Patients were not thought to be identifiable in the images.

For more details see Hospital operation photos 'appear on Facebook' (BBC News).

I think that hospital worker deserves to be suspended because he had violated patient's privacy. Though, patients is not clear in the images, still it is improper and unethical for a worker to post that very critical moment for someone.

I agree with that. It mus be kept as private.

But people really reveal what secret you have and you can't stop them.

This is the disadvantage of Facebook. It depends on how people use it. Revealing privacy is not a good thing.

Both of you are correct, that's why I agree. We must keep one's secret and make it confidential.
