I'm not sure how long this research has been going on, but I saw it referred to in an article the other day in Personnel Today.
The research is entitled Working Nation and is ongoing research by Vodafone that looks at, "the attitudes and trends that shape the United Kingdom at work". It claims to, "offer an insight into the views of opinion leaders, employers and employees about changing roles, responsibilities and perceptions in the workplace."
So far three themed paper have been made available for downloading:
