The spy who blogged about it...

According to the BBC News Web-site, the Israeli secret service has launched a new venture: it has started to carry an Internet diary, or blog, written by four of its agents.

More details:

The agents discuss how they were recruited, and what sort of work they perform; they also answer questions sent in by members of the public.

The main aim, it seems, is recruitment:

The blogs are intended to draw members of the public into other areas of the Shin Bet website - in particular the recruitment section.

On-line social networking, spies and anti-terrorism initiatives

The BBC (Business) reported yesterday that the CIA has launched an on-line social networking website for its employees.

The CIA's so-called A-Space aims to improve the way that intelligence agents communicate and allow staff to better analyse information together.

It is also believed that such infrastructures would help break down some of the physical communication problems in the intelligence community.

It's ironic that the CIA has been heavily criticised over the events of 9/11 because its many functions did not always work effectively and cooperatively.
