Pew, a charitable trust from the USA, has just released a most interesting report that looks at the impact of Internet-related technology on the working lives of USA employees.
In a press release, the following positive effects of such technology are noted:
- 80 per cent say these technologies have improved their ability to do their job.
- 73 per cent say these technologies have improved their ability to share ideas with co-workers.
- 58 per cent say these tools have allowed them more flexibility in the hours they work.
However, negative effects are noted by USA employees:
- 49 per cent say these technologies increase the level of stress in their job.
- 49 per cent say these technologies make it harder for them to disconnect from their work when they are at home and on the weekends.
- 46 per cent say these tools increase demands that they work more hours.
