An interesting piece of work about teleworking recently appeared on the CIPD website.
The article discusses the so-called rise of the "mobile worker" typified by working on the go and using information and communications technology such as a networked mobile phone, Blackberry or laptop computer.

In Teleworking: trends and prospects John Philpott explores three dimensions of teleworking:
1) How many telework?
2) Who teleworks?
3) How far might teleworking grow?
The article provides many insights into teleworking and mobile working which I won't go into here.
However, it is worth noting that Philpott ends by suggesting that, "a society filled with legions of home based workers free of the stress of the daily commute still seems a long way off."
